Meet the founder
Adraia Virgilio, LPN
Mother. PPCM survivor. Nurse. Advocate.
I'm Adraia, founder of Prestige Collection Services. My passion for accessible care began with an experience that changed my life.
At 26, four days after welcoming my fourth daughter, I was diagnosed with peripartum cardiomyopathy (PPCM), congestive heart failure, and preeclampsia. A cough that began during labor continued after I went home. When I could no longer lie down comfortably, I knew something was wrong and returned to the hospital.
Testing showed fluid in my lungs and an ejection fraction of only 10–15%. I spent five days in the coronary care unit and three days on telemetry. Recovery took time, and I eventually received an implanted defibrillator, which I still have. Over time, my ejection fraction improved to 45–50%.
I was not a nurse when this happened. Today, as an LPN and a survivor, I carry that experience into my work. I founded Prestige Collection Services to help reduce barriers to lab collection and support women in staying connected to their healthcare providers.
Through Prestige and the Maternal Heart Access Initiative, I share my story, advocate for maternal heart health, and help make care more accessible during pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond.
